Week 6 Reflection: Questions from Your Friends & Tagline Challenge

1. What kind of future self do you want yours to be? How will GenerasiGIGIH help you to become your future self?

I want to be a Backend Engineer, a really good one. To become a really good Backend Engineer, I have to prove to myself that one day I will work in Gojek as a Backend Engineer. A lot of my seniors from my campus, Del Institute of Technology, have become Engineers in Gojek and it makes me feel that “If they can, so do I”.

Sometimes I doubt myself because I feel not good enough and not experienced enough. But #GenerasiGIGIH helps me by giving me knowledge of how to be a good Backend Engineer and what Backend Engineers need to know. Start from the Introduction to the Intermediate level.

2. Do you become more confident to become what you aspire to be after joining GenerasiGIGIH?

To be honest, after 4 weeks in #GenerasiGIGIH, I feel less confident. Not because I feel stupid, but because I realize there is still so much to learn. It feels weird because the more I learn, the more I feel there is a lot that I still don’t know.

But I believe, through what #GenerasiGIGIH has given me, I can become more confident even reach what I aspire to be, a Backend Engineer in Gojek.

3. How has this program changed your life during this lockdown period?

I really enjoy the #GenerasiGIGIH program, even though the module is quite challenging, but they taught me lots of lessons. #GenerasiGIGIH not only taught me about technology stuff but also taught me how to think like a good Backend Engineer and gives us references to learn deeper in Backend Engineering

Mentors from #GenerasiGIGIH have helped me how to see the world of technology and open a way for me to achieve a bright future.

So I have my own tagline, it's called #PushItToTheLimit and #BeGrateful. For me, to be able to push ourselves to the limit, we need to be grateful. Be grateful for small things, value our small achievements. Because if we don’t feel grateful, we might feel bad for ourselves and it could prevent us from being able to push to the limit
